MilkShelf ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

This policy applies to all users of milkshelf.com and associated subdomains, including farmers who manage subscriptions and customers who sign up through a farm's portal.

1. Information We Collect

From Farmers:

From Customers:

We do not collect financial information from customers. Payment for milk is handled directly between you and your farm.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Service, including to send transactional emails such as subscription confirmations, pickup reminders, and waitlist notifications on behalf of your farm; to generate pickup labels for farmers; to display your subscription details when you look up your account; and to communicate with farmers about their MilkShelf account and service updates.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising.

3. How We Store Your Information

Your data is stored in Google Workspace infrastructure (Google Sheets and Google Drive) secured by the farm's Google account. Data is backed up weekly. Dashboard access is protected by time-limited authentication tokens that expire after 30 days.

Farm logos and maps are stored in Google Drive with restricted sharing settings.

4. Who Can Access Your Information

Customer data is accessible to the farm you subscribed with (the farmer and anyone they authorize) and to MilkShelf for providing the Service and technical support.

Farmer data is accessible only to the farmer themselves and to MilkShelf for providing the Service and technical support.

We will not share your information with third parties except when required by law or legal process, with your explicit consent, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of MilkShelf, our users, or the public.

5. Emails We Send

MilkShelf sends emails on behalf of farms. These are transactional, not marketing. They include subscription confirmations when you sign up or update; pickup reminders the night before or morning of your pickup; waitlist notifications when a spot opens; and contact form auto-responses.

You can opt out of pickup reminders by setting your reminder preference to "No reminders" on your customer portal. You cannot opt out of transactional emails like subscription confirmations, as they are essential to the Service.

6. Cookies & Tracking

MilkShelf does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics tools on farm customer portals. We do not track your browsing behavior.

7. Your Rights

Customers: You can view and update your information at any time through your farm's customer portal using your phone number. To request deletion of your data, contact your farm directly or email us at Contact@MilkShelf.com.

Farmers: You can export your customer data at any time from your dashboard. To close your account and request deletion of all data, contact us at Contact@MilkShelf.com. Data will be deleted within 30 days of your request.

8. Children's Privacy

MilkShelf is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify farmers by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last updated.

10. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to request what personal information we have collected about you, request deletion of your personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. To exercise these rights, email Contact@MilkShelf.com.
